Day 1: Pickup from Hotel in Kampala or Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi national park

Starting the 3 day gorilla habituation experience from Kigali – Rwanda is a 3 – 5 hour drive to Rushaga sector Bwindi impenetrable national park. We can ably start this tour from Kampala in Uganda for 10 – 12 hour drive to the extreme south of Uganda Where Rushaga sector is located.

Alternatively we can book a charter flight from Entebbe International airport to Kisoro airstrip, where you will meet our tour guide to drive you on a 1 hour drive to your hotel in Bwindi national park.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience – Visit Batwa Pygmies

Set off after breakfast at your hotel close to the Rushaga starting point where you will receive briefing for gorilla habituation experience. You must have your habituation permits and a copy of your passport as you arrive for briefing and registration.

The best time to book gorilla habituation experience is during the dry season of December to March and June to October. Gorilla habituation safari is offered all year round but best to avoid the rainy season as the ground is slippery making it tough to hike in the jungle. Gorilla habituation experience last 4 hours with a family of mountain gorillas while watching and photographing the gorillas.

After habituation experience, if time allows you will head-out for a visit to the Batwa pygmies tribe which lives near the forest comprising an ancient pygmies tribe who are the protectors of the gorillas.
