The 15 Days Uganda safari is entirely about exploring the hidden treasures in the Pearl of Africa. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Hotel – Rhino tracking at Zziwa – Transfer to Gulu

Today, your driver guide will meet you at your respective hotel or agreed pick up location in Kampala. Your luggage will be packed in the car and you will also get briefed about your trip. After, you will embark on a journey to Gulu but first, expect to make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary located in Nakasongola district. You will engage in a guided trek to explore rhinos in the wild. From Ziwa, continue to Gulu city where you will have dinner and overnight in one of the best hotels.

Day 2: Drive to Kidepo for Full day game drive

Have a hefty breakfast and after, proceed to Kidepo Valley National Park in the Northeastern part of Uganda. Arrive early and embark on a guided game drive via the Narus valley. This game track will have you exposed to diversity wildlife including buffaloes, lions, African bush elephants, antelopes, zebras, and others. Return from the long day game drive and settle for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Visit Karamojong tribes – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Have breakfast and after, set off for a cultural visit in the Karamojong village/community. Explore more about the different cultures, traditions and also get entertained by the distinct dances from Karamojong themselves –the renowned pastoralists.

After the cultural experience, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park –Uganda’s biggest park. You will check in your accommodation where you will have a relaxed afternoon, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game drive – Afternoon launch cruise at the bottom of the falls

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, you will set off for a game drive. Today’s game drive in Murchison Falls Park will go for about 2-3 hours and allows you search for diversity of wildlife. This park is popular for its diversity of wildlife including the cape buffaloes, leopards, waterbucks, elephants, Uganda kobs, Rothschild giraffes, and hartebeest.

After exploring the northern game tracks, get back to have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will take part in a guided boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. During this excursion, expect to come across aquatic life such as hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will check out and today’s program will be for you to travel to Kibale. This involve navigating via Hoima oil city and en-route, you will have a lunch break at Fort Portal. From Fort Portal, you will drive direct to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking – Visit Bigodi swamp

Enjoy a delicious cup of tea/coffee early morning and after, you will assemble at Kanyanchu. At Kanyanchu, you will get briefed about chimpanzee tracking rules and regulations. The park ranger guides will be available to take you on a search for chimpanzees in the wild. This will go for 2-4 hours with guarantee of an hour for you to have a face-to-face chimp community.

In addition to chimp encounters, you will also see other primates including the red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, colobus monkeys and birds. Walk back to enjoy your lunch at leisure from your respective lodges. In the afternoon, you will have a guided walk in Bigodi wetland.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP – launch cruise along the Kazinga channel

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, you will transfer from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you drive, enjoy the spectacular view of the Crater Lakes, vast banana plantations, and the legendary Rwenzori Mountain. Arrive at the early for you to check in, relax and have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will be picked up from the lodge to go engage in a boat cruise along Kazinga channel. The Kazinga channel launch cruise allows you watch aquatic dwellers like hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 8: Lion tracking – Transfer to Ishasha for Afternoon game drive

Early in the morning, you will be served breakfast and later, set off for lion tracking in Kazinga game track. You will have great time exploring how lions behave in the wild, and take pictures. Today’s lion tracking session also allows you keep eyes on other faunal species like buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and bird species.

Return from Kasenyi lion tracking for you to have lunch. In the afternoon, connect to Ishasha for a game drive. Along the Ishasha game sector, you will search for the tree climbing lions plus plenty of other large and small mammals.

Day 9: Game drive in Ishasha sector – Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Wake up early to enjoy your delicious breakfast and after, go explore Ishasha sector. Today’s game viewing session involves searching for abundant wildlife that live here including the tree climbing lions, and other mammals. After the game drive, you will transfer to Bwindi to relax at the lodge.

Day 10: Mountain gorilla trekking – visit Batwa Pygmies

Have a hefty breakfast at the lodge and after, be ready for your gorilla trekking adventure. This primate adventure will begin with briefing about safety measures to be followed during a trek to see mountain gorillas. You will spend 2-6 hours in the jungles and this includes an hour for you to have up close with a family of mountain gorillas.

Once you return from the gorilla trek, expect to get your gorilla trekking certificate issued by the park official. From here, you will return to have a relaxed evening and overnight.

Day 11: Golden monkey tracking

Visit Mgahinga Gorilla National Park where golden monkey tracking will be enjoyed with the lead of an experienced park ranger guide. The tourism official in Mgahinga you will have you briefed about the adventure and this proceed with the adventure upon allocation of golden monkey troops or park ranger guides. After an hour of face-to-face encounter, you will get back and spend the long day at the lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing and island tour

Drive off from Mgahinga National Park to Lake Bunyonyi, this is the deepest lake and is blessed with 29 islands. Arrive early for you to enjoy lunch and in the afternoon, you will have a canoe ride. This involves exploring Lake Bunyonyi’s stunning views and its surrounding.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo – boat ride – night gamed rive

Following a leisurely breakfast, depart from Lake Bunyonyi and this road trip involves exploring Lake Mburo National Park. This includes keeping eyes on the hippos, crocodiles and birds. Proceed with the night game drive where you will come across nocturnal as they become active.

Day 14: Nature walk in the park / game drive – Transfer to Kampala

After a hefty breakfast, you will be led by an experienced guide on a guided nature walk. Or go for normal game drive through the enriching game tracks in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is known for its unusual wildlife including zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and birds. From Lake Mburo National Park, you will board your comfortable 4×4 safari car and drive back to Kampala.

Day 15: Kampala city tour

Leave your respective hotels for Entebbe airport and today, you will clear with authorities. Later, catch up with a departing flight back home and this brings to an end the 15 days Uganda safari.
