Day 1: Kigali city tour – Transfer to Bwindi national park Uganda
Kigali city presents a modern well organized city with well-maintained roads, clean streets offering a present tour to its popular places in Kigali. The country is steadily recovering from a horrible genocide of 1994 and is determined to never let it happen again. Some interesting places in Kigali you must see is the genocide memorial site, the Kimironko fresh fruit and food market. The art museum and so much more places to see and explore in Kigai capital.
You will transfer to Bwindi forest national park driving towards the Rwanda Uganda border. You will go through the immigration system of Rwanda and enter through the immigration system of Uganda. Tourists can ably receive Uganda visa at the border without prior application and must be paid cash at the front desk but not credit card because there is no credit card machine services at the border. Its always a smooth process to receive Uganda visa and later hit the road off to your accommodation in Bwindi forest overlooking the park.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – visit Batwa Pygmies
Gorilla trekking safaris in Bwindi start at 8:00am in all 4 sectors of Bwindi forest national park. Prior to gorilla trekking, all tourists must arrive at the head office by 7:30am to receive briefing about the do’s and don’ts while with the mountain gorillas. The do’s include what you can do and is safe with the gorillas and you while the don’ts have been set to avoid doing while with the gorillas to make sure tourists don’t upset them during their visit to the forest.
Tourists can only visit fully habituated gorilla families which are used to the presence of visitors and wont mind when visitors are watching them.
Tourists trek through the forest guided by trained Uganda Wildlife staff called trackers. They have done tours in the forest for more than 10years with great experience of the forest. They keep informing you about the forest and the government conservation effort to protect the mountain gorillas in the mist.
One you meet your gorilla family, your guide will whisper to leave back your bags and draw near to the gorillas with our cameras ad phones. No flashlight is allowed or will upset the gorillas. You can only be in the company of gorillas for just 1 hour each day standing a few meters away, living a dream of your life.
Your guide will be waiting as you arrive back from the gorillas and receive certificates appreciating you for your efforts in supporting conservation of gorillas in Uganda.
Return to your hotel for lunch and rest, later go out to visit the Batwa pygmies who were removed from the forest for mountain gorillas conservation.

Wakeup at leisure today for breakfast at your hotel, later set off with your guide to Volcanoes national park in Rwanda. The drive takes you crossing the Uganda- Rwanda border via Cyanika border which is 1 hour from Volcanoes national park.
Located near volcanoes national park Rwanda, the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village is a super add on to your tour after or before mountain gorilla trekking in Rwanda. In this village, tourists have a chance to learn and experience the real life of Rwandans from families and how they live, to traditions in kingship, cooking and running typical Rwandan home, roles of men in families and so much more.

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking and Transfer to Kigali
Golden monkeys tracking in Rwanda starts at 7:00am with briefing at the Volcanoes national park head office in Kinigi. All tourists are expected to assemble at park office for briefing before the adventure. Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes national park is an easy walk to find the unique primates which live at the bottom of the mountain range. Golden monkeys normally don’t move up hill unlike mountain gorillas which keep moving deeper into the forest.
Golden monkeys are unique primates with Golden patches of fur located in the bamboo forest of the Virunga massif region which covers Rwanda, Uganda and Congo. In East Africa, Golden monkeys can only be spotted in the Virunga region.
Unlike gorilla trekking the walk to golden monkeys is easy leading tourists into the bamboo forest. This is a half day activity to find your drive at the starting point.
Later be ready to drive off for Kigali where your guide will drive you to the airport or drop off at your hotel.
